From the Epic of Gilgamesh ca 2800 B.C. In my city man dies, oppressed is th heart, Man perishes , heavy is the heart, I peered over the wall, Saw the dead bodies floating in the river's waters, As for e, I too will be served thus, verily it is so! Man, the tallest, cannot each to heaven, Man, the widest, cannot cove the earth. Brick and stamp have not yet brought forth the fated end, I would enter the "land," would set up my name, In its places where the names have been raised up, I would raise up my name, In its places where the names have not been raised up, I would raise up the names of the gods. =========================================================================== T H I S W E E K I N H I S T O R Y =========================================================================== February 26, 1917: A group of Assyrians gathered in Rev. Organizers of this radio program explain that the broadcast will cover an area over 500 Km or 312.5 miles radius. Consequently, the Assyrians in Detroit will also be able to enjoy this program. Apparently this is the first time a 2-hour Assyrian radio program is transmitted over the Canadian air. Previous Assyrian programs were limited to half an hour per week and their weak signal could only reach a much shorter distance.
